Information We Collect

We collect the following information:

• Email address and name for account creation
• Payment information for paid subscriptions, processed securely by our payment provider. We never store or see your full card details.
• Instagram usernames you search, stored as search history to power the Recent Searches feature. You can clear this anytime from your Dashboard.
• Content you choose to save to your personal library
• Basic usage data such as pages visited and features used, to improve the product

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect passwords for Instagram accounts
• We do not access private Instagram accounts
• We do not sell your personal data to third parties
• We do not use advertising or tracking cookies
• We do not share your data with Meta or Instagram

How We Use Your Data

• Email: account management, password resets, important service notifications
• Search history: powers your Recent Searches feature, clearable at any time
• Saved content: stored in your personal library until you delete it
• Payment data: subscription processing only
• Usage data: improving the product and fixing bugs

Data Storage and Security

All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and at rest. Your files are stored with private access controls — only you can access your saved content. We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

Third Party Service Providers

We use trusted third-party service providers for hosting, payments, email delivery, and data storage. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it to provide their services to us. We do not sell or share your data with any third party for marketing purposes.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data at any time from your Profile and Settings pages
• Correct inaccurate information in your profile
• Export all your data from Settings → Privacy → Export Data
• Clear your search history from your Dashboard
• Delete your account and all associated data permanently from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes all your data including search history, saved content, tracked accounts, and payment records within 24 hours.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted within 24 hours. Our payment processor may retain transaction records for legal compliance purposes independent of your account deletion.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies to maintain your login session and preferences. We do not use advertising, tracking, or third-party cookies. Disabling cookies in your browser will prevent you from staying logged in.

GDPR and CCPA

If you are in the European Union or California, you have additional rights including the right to data portability and the right to be forgotten. To exercise these rights email support@instalurk.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

InstaLurk is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact support@instalurk.com and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notice at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
